These top whorl drop spindles are made from maple and rich black walnut wood - a beautiful combination! Nicely rim-weighted for an even and sustained spin. They are hand crafted by Scott Hubley, Fox Mountain Spindles.

Scott, makes several versions of this spindle in different weights and sizes.

• Mini  = 1.0oz (~28g) - This is a nice lighter-weight version for spinning singles. Whorl diameter of 2½ inches and total length of approximately 10¼ inches.

• Medium = 1.6 to 1.8oz (45-51g) - This medium-weight version is a great spindle for those just learning to spin or for those looking for a versatile spindle. Whorl diameter of 3¼ inches and total length of approximately 11¼ inches (9½ below the whorl)

• Plying = 2.0 to 2.2oz (57-62g) - A great heavier-weight spindle for spinning thick yarn or plying. Whorl diameter of 3¼+ inches and total length of approximately 11½ to 12 inches (9½ to 10 inches below the whorl).

Made completely from North American wood from sustainable sources.
